Every year Chiang Mai holds a wonderful flower festival. There is a flower show competition which consists mainly of orchids and bonsais. The colours and perfume of some of the orchids are amazing. There is also a parade of floats covered in flowers. The designs of these floats are always creative.
As this year Thailand is celebrating the King’s 80th birthday AND the 60th year of his ascension to the throne there was a focus on celebrating and honouring him.
